Meet Stefan Strömer | Post-Production Manager

Stefan Strömer is a long-time experienced post producer based in Hamburg, Germany. Growing up in the countryside of Lower Saxony, MTV was his only window to a more interesting world of creative film and video making. Starting in the video control room, he went through all parts of the postproduction process and became a video editor with a good knowledge of grading and motion design.

In the last year, he’s professionalized with AI workflows like image-to-video and video-to-video generation using Midjourney, Runway, Luma AI, and Nano Banana – tools that are reshaping everything from pre-vis to final delivery. He’s exploring start and end frame generation for smoother transitions, and experimenting with MCP servers for text-to-interface control. It’s like adding a whole new department to the pipeline, except it lives in the cloud and doesn’t need coffee breaks. Having this background – from timecode wrangling to render farms, from offline edits to online finishing – the decision was easy to work himself more into the world of post production management.

He understands the entire signal flow, knows when to push a deadline and when to add another revision round, and can speak fluently with everyone from DITs to colorists to sound mixers. He likes to communicate with a slight blink in his eye but always professional – the kind of post producer who keeps the mood light when the render crashes at midnight, but never loses sight of the delivery date.
